The Photographs You Didn't Know You Needed
August 10th 2026
But the moments we treasure most aren't always the ones we thought to photograph.
The way your child reaches for your hand without thinking.
The friend quietly fixing the bride's dress before she walks down the aisle.
The expression on your teenager's face when they think nobody is watching.
The ordinary afternoon that felt like every other afternoon.
The person standing just outside the important moment.
The little things that seemed too ordinary to photograph.
Until time made them extraordinary.
Because life doesn't usually announce when a season is ending.
There is rarely a final morning where someone tells you:
"Pay attention -
This is the last time..."
The shoes simply get bigger.
The conversations change.
The house gets quieter.
The people we love grow older.
And one day, we look back and realise a season has become a memory.
The Golden Light
This understanding is deeply personal for me.
Eighteen years ago, I learnt just how profoundly a photograph can change meaning with time.
I lost my son.
I don't need to tell his whole story here. But his absence changed the way I see photographs forever.
I learnt that a photograph doesn't need to be perfect to become priceless.
Sometimes its greatest value is simply that it gives us somewhere to return to.
That understanding has quietly shaped the way I photograph ever since.
Over the years, I've watched the same thing happen for the people I photograph.
I've watched parents arrive wanting to remember the way their children are right now.
Couples wanting to hold onto the beginning of their life together.
Families wanting to preserve a season they already know is passing.
And somewhere along the way, I realised we were all trying to hold onto the same thing.
Time.
Not stop it.
Not preserve every second.
Just hold onto enough of it to be able to return.
The Space Between
I began noticing that the photographs people returned to weren't always the most beautiful ones.
They weren't always the photographs they had planned.
They were the ones that held a person.
A connection.
A feeling.
A little piece of life that might otherwise have disappeared unnoticed.
And eventually, I realised I wasn't simply photographing moments - I was preserving seasons.
The seasons of life that pass quietly while we are too busy living them to notice.
That is why I created The Space Between.
A way of seeing photography beyond the milestones.
A way of noticing the moments surrounding them.
The years of becoming.
The everyday rhythm of family life.
The lifetime shared with a beloved companion.
The final chapter of a life.
Different seasons.
Different stories.
But the same underlying truth:
We cannot stop time.
We can only decide what we will carry forward.
Photographs Preserve Moments...
Time Capsules Preserve Seasons.
A Time Capsule is my way of bringing those moments together.
Not simply the photographs that are beautiful, but the ones that hold meaning.
Collected slowly.
Thoughtfully curated.
Professionally printed.
Created to be held, returned to, and added to as life continues.
Because perhaps, years from now, you'll open one and find a photograph you barely remember taking.
And suddenly you're there again.
You remember the person.
The place.
The feeling.
The season.
That is what I want these photographs to give you.
A way back.
Perhaps...
Perhaps you Didn't Know You Were Looking For This.
Perhaps you arrived here looking for a newborn photographer.
Or a family photographer.
Or someone to photograph your wedding.
Perhaps you were simply looking for some beautiful photographs.
And perhaps you've found something you didn't know you were looking for.
A way to hold onto the season you're living right now
